ABOUT

Built in 1885, the country school building for Walsh County District No. 70 (locally known as Hoff School) is typical of many oneroom school buildings. Situated near the boundary line between Norton and Vesta townships, the school building is tucked into a belt of natural timber land close to the juncture of two coulees feeding the north branch of the Forest River. Inside and out, the school building is in a near original state of maintenance and preservation. The building is not open to the public.
