The Grafton State School Historic District is part of the campus of the former Grafton State School, North Dakota’s institution for the care of people with developmental disabilities, now known as the Life Skills and Transition Center. It consists of six structures and the remnants of a semi-subterranean tunnel system, all of which are contributing elements of the historic district. The architectural styles represented in the structures at the facility include Classic Revival, Beaux Arts, Prairie School, and Art Deco. The buildings that serve the general public are open Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Some of the buildings have been converted to apartments.
